A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nursing Manager to work for the UK’s leading Diagnostic Medical Pathology organisation, based in the buzzing heart of Central London.

The role will incorporate the following duties: -

  • Day to day management of Phlebotomy and Reception staff
  • Liaising directly with patients and taking samples when needed.
  • Involvement with smooth running of department to include sample taking, home visits and reception duties as required
  • To be familiar with all working practices including the IT and telephone systems within the department and provide support and back up as required
  • Responsible for recruitment, supervision, appraisal and training of Patient Reception and Phlebotomy staff
  • Liaising with internal departments as required
  • Occupational Health - will involve liaising with the new Occupational Health team
  • Staff attendance records and rosters
  • Co-ordinate regular departmental meetings
  • Ensure high levels of customer care, support and liaison
  • Responsibility for ordering equipment and consumables, maintaining stock control system & rotation
  • Maintain and implement department policies and procedures
  • Ensure practises are in line with The Quality Management requirements, UKAS and CQC. The post holder will be expected to ensure the department is audit and inspection ready at all times
  • To attend meetings as required
