Salford Quays

Salary: £23,000 - £25,000

Hours: Mon – Thurs 9am - 5.30pm, Fri 9am - 4.15pm

We are seeking a highly motivated, sportswear / workwear / accessories designer to join our team.

Working within a small team, this position will hold a high level of responsibility whilst offering a wide range of experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing international company.

My client is a Global Promotional Product provider specialising in working with the World’s best and most innovative companies on all of their brand engagement needs.  They currently operate in 8 countries with over 390 employees.  They are leaders in Their industry and on a fast track for growth.  Their clients move quickly, are innovators in their own industries and expect the same from us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with key members of the team to design concepts for future clothing & existing range updates.
  • Researching, developing & communicating trend ideas within the team
  • Communicate with the purchasing team to develop high quality clothing solutions.
  • You will be confident in communicating with our existing supply chain to develop the products and bring them to market from concept whilst supported by our purchasing team
  • Understanding of garment technology including fit & function  
  • Prepare accurate technical specifications and ensure standards are adhered to
  • Liaise with the existing supply base & purchasing team to ensure that product quality is maintained through to production

Key Skills Required:

  • An understanding of trends and market needs
  • Design creativity, innovation and flair combined with a commercial awareness.
  • At least two years’ experience in a sportswear product development role.
  • Adobe suit experience
  • Adaptable and highly organised– this is a fast-paced role in a growing business. Priorities shift constantly so the ability to manage your workload is important.
  • Communication- You will need to build and manage relationships with colleagues and supply chain. The ability to communicate clearly is essential.
