Proactive and highly organised Hearings Coordinator / Regulation Assistant is required for Healthcare Regulatory Body to start asap on a temporary basis (potential of permanent)

Main purpose of the role is to assist in the implementation of regulatory policies and procedures

Duties will include:

  • Schedule and service committee meetings and hearings
  • Logistical arrangements for meetings (booking panel member, hearing venues, preparing agendas, preparing committee papers and bundles)
  • Maintain statistical information about cases
  • Respond to and log queries and complaints regarding registrants, diaries key dates and timelines
  • Undertake initial case assessment and apply standard protection of title procedures
  • Attend proceedings to ensure smooth running of the hearings (ushering witnesses, taking oaths, handling documentation, ensure record of proceedings maintained)
  • Assist the Committee in producing written determinations
  • Publicise all fitness to practice notices and decisions


  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of healthcare regulation
  • Experience of fitness to practice committees and managing hearings
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to varied audiences
  • Ability to remain calm, resilient, and non-judgmental
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Proven ability to take responsibility as first point of contact for queries
  • Excellent organisation skills and able to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to schedule and clerk hearings
  • Intermediate level of MS Office
  • Minute taking skills

This is a temporary position for 2 months with potential of longer term/permanent role
